"Dear Mr. Larsen, My wife Donna and myself wanted to write you this note to say what a great job your organization did for our family in our darkest hour. On Dec. 11th my son, was shot and murdered in Los Angeles, California. We live in Alexandria, Virginia and quite frankly we were at a loss and are still very much at a loss at the entire sequence of events. It hasn't even been 90 days but I felt it important to let you know how thankful we are. I looked on the Web for a funeral home and stumbled across your business and read some reviews on YELP. I wanted to make sure I was in Santa Monica -Boy did my research prove to be spot on!! The service provided by your entire team were flawless-The memorial at The Woodlawn facility and the compassion shown by everyone was indeed consoling and real. My son was cremated and every little detail was carried out to perfection -As I mentioned my son was shot and it was important that our family and his friends be able to see him one more time at the viewing. It was masterful work! That's it- I will never forget you-your company-Gary-or your calming influence and compassion. "There is nothing I could write on here that would not be an understatement to the Larson Family, and especially Erik Larson. From the day that my loved one passed, Erik was involved and made everything happen. That may not sound like much, but in my case, my family wanted my grandmother's body to be flown to another country for her final resting place. Erik made every single arrangement for everything that had to be done. The only thing I did is receive constant updates from Erik and relay those updates to my family. From the moment that my family member's remains were picked up (arranged by Erik) to the moment they were boarded on an airplane (all of which was arranged by Erik, including the airline arrangements), Erik knew exactly what was happening... this is almost unimaginable considering the foreign country involved and the various entities involved. "I would just like to sincerely thank Erik Larson for all his assistance with arranging my ex husband’s cremation.
I found out at midnight on a Saturday that my ex husband had just passed away in Los Angeles. I live in Tampa, Florida.
I hadn’t spoken to him in 10 years but apparently he knew I would handle things for him. I had to locate family members in order to get things started. I managed to get two days off from work but considering how far away I was that was really cutting things short.
They gave me the name of Larson Family Mortuary as a low cost funeral home. As soon as I made a call there I knew this was the place I wanted to handle the arrangements. Erik was so professional and helpful. I called him on a Friday afternoon and by the following Friday I was on a plane to Los Angeles. Everything went as planned. Even though this was supposed to be a low cost mortuary the service was of the highest quality. I cannot express my gratitude enough for all Erik did to help me and the family out.
Erik even called me after I came home to make sure everything went alright. In this day and age it is hard to find this kind of dedication to a profession."

"I live in Maryland and my brother was in an assisted living facility in Thousand Oaks, CA when he died. I had previously made arrangements with Erik Larson so I called him as soon as I was notified of my brother's passing. Erik immediately dispatched his driver to pick up my brother's remains. The rest of the process was as easy and convenient as the initial notification. Larson arranged for my brother's cremation and then shipped his ashes to me in Maryland.
